Welder-Bridge Crew

GNB is looking for welders to add to our bridge crew! The ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Clean drivers abstract and valid class 5 drivers license.
  • First aid, H2S Alive, TDG, and WHMIS 2015.
  • CWB welding ticket.
  • A positive attitude with strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to work hard.
  • Experience in the forestry and oil and gas industry.
  • A knowledge of the local geography, roads, and routes, is an asset.
  • Bridge construction and/or fab shop experience is an asset.
  • Willingness to work in the shop or in the field as required.
  • Duties may also include labouring on bridge sites as necessary.

Bridge Construction Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Bridge Construction Project Management. Open to full time or part-time (as needed/project-based) fulfilment of this role.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • WReporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Bridge Construction Project Manager will be responsible for bridge construction projects from the estimating stage to completion, including management of quality control, project timelines, and communications with all project stakeholders.
  • The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of management/supervisor level experience in bridge construction, including experience with resource road bridges, temporary/portable bridge installs, and highways/MoTI contracts.
  • This position will also oversee the management of GNB’s portable bridge fleet.
  • Must be willing to work on a flexible schedule as required.
  • Knowledge of safety legislation and history of safely executing large projects.
  • Ability to execute on time and on budget. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will maintain a proactive efficiency mindset on all jobs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office (outlook, word, excel) is mandatory.
  • Responsible for business development of the bridge construction unit of the business as well as proactively seeking other opportunities with existing clients.
  • Must be able to effectively manage client relationships with strong communication skills and ability to translate information between all project stakeholders.
  • Responsible for ensuring adequate training and development of direct reports while maintaining and building team morale.
  • Must maintain a positive attitude always and be able to work calmly under pressure.
  • Project Management certification and/or QA/QC certification is considered an asset.

Labourers / Bridge Crew

Great Northern Bridgeworks Ltd. is looking for labourers for our bridge crew! The ideal candidates will have the following qualifications.

Requirements

  • Clean drivers abstract.

  • A valid class 5 driver’s license.
  • A positive attitude with strong problem-solving skills and willingness to work hard.
  • Experience in the forestry and oil and gas industry as well as knowledge of the local geography, roads, and routes.

Senior Civil Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Civil Engineer who has experience leading project teams and is familiar with the Resource and Oil & Gas market.

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering with at least 10 years of progressive experience in the design and management of civil resource development and Oil & Gas projects.
  • Current & valid registration as a P.Eng. in British Columbia & Alberta, or eligibility to be registered in both provinces
  • Demonstrated sound business development and client liaison skills and a keen entrepreneurial spirit
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in road and bridge engineering in remote locations
  • Experience with all government levels, construction contractors and developers
  • High productivity, attention to detail, and an ability to work well as a team player
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Civil3D considered an asset, as well as municipal infrastructure modeling software.

Responsibilities

  • Manage civil/ projects. Carry out and oversee aspects of engineering design for land development and municipal projects, from proposal stage through commissioning of the work
  • Develop new business and establish strategic relationships with key clients, agencies and partners
  • Prepare and submit superior proposals and technical reports
  • Approve/assist in the generation of invoices for clients and track against agreed client budgets
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams, providing mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and technical staff.

Great Northern Bridgeworks Ltd. is looking for experienced Equipment Operators to join our team with experience on the following pieces:

  • Excavators
  • Dozers

  • Skid steers

Requirements

  • A positive attitude with strong problem-solving skills.
  • 5 years of operating experience.
  • Experience operating forestry equipment (buncher, skidder, processor) is considered an asset.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with excavator and dozer proficiency.
  • Strong knowledge of forestry and oil and gas industry as well as the local geography, roads, and routes.
  • First aid, H2S Alive, TDG, and WHMIS 2015.
